Resolved Question: My mom and dad won't let me talk?
I'm 19 and a second semester freshmen in college. And me and my parents DO NOT receive ALONG!!!! We can't even have conversations without getting into arguments. And my dad always yells at me and tries to make me look inferior to him, when physically he's not (I've fought him before and won). I know the commandment saying "I shall honor my dad and mom." But why should i give them respect when they don't give me any? I am legally an adult and I should be treated as such...ever heard of the golden rule!!! Anyways, my dad is also talking about disowning me if I argue with him or my mom one more time, and if he does then I will be a hobo. I'm not a bad person. I'm an Eagle Scout and a lifeguard at a local indoor pool. I also have good grades. But my parents don't look that. I can't stand being home anymore cause I have to be around them. And what if my dad does disown me? Then I'd have to drop out of college and my career aspiration of being a doctor will be extinguished.

Well, my dad died last May 16th and it was a big shock for me, like my life ended and I feel the same depressed now too... Well I don't wanna bug you with my problems so I will just try 2 say it shortly, I wanted 2 do something for his memory and decided to receive a tattoo (I don't like big tattoos and even tiny ones much 2 and plus I am a girl, big tattoos don't look good on girls, I think.) I told it 2 my bro and he started 2 beg me not 2 do it, like really beg... He said only hobos make tattoos and stuff (No abuse 2 u guys who have tattoos, he was just nervous) But I still did it... He doesn't know about it yet though (He lives in London and I live in Georgia, close Russia) My mum didn't want me 2 do it but she agreed because I wanted 2 do it for my dad. Yeah and not many people know about it, just some of my friends and some of my relatives... Well now you too, but u don't know me so... I have few question 2 you guys: 1. Resolved Question: I Feel Horrible :/ Ten Points?
Bear With me. Long Story :/ So I have a pal. She's so nice, she's pretty, friendly. But she has really low self esteem and her family is nice of struggling right now in this economy. Before I realized every this, (like two months ago) me and one of my other friends were discussing stuff about her on the bus. She said, I really hate her shoes, and why does she keep wearing pajama pants to school? I admit it was nice've weird..her shoes and her pants. But I didn't think much of it. But me being stupid and mean, I totally agreed and went along with it. That was like 2 months ago. Normally none of this drama ever occurs...sadly our school is broken into stereotypes and groups, where you have to meet a certain standard. Well I adore being a random voice, just talking to whoever, weather they're a hobo or a millionaire. Anyway, I guess we just kept talking about her that day...I'm not going to try and make this sound any better than it was, but it wasn't really a super nasty gossip. I guess you could say we were nice of criticizing her looks, and style. Which was really wrong. And I felt really bad afterwards. After that, we pretty much stopped talking about her behind her back. We didn't spread the rumor, or do anything to that extent. About my other pal: Sometimes she makes me feel like that kid who just can't behave...the one you look getting yelled at every the time by it's mom. That's how my pal makes me feel like 40% of the time. But I have so much fun with her...and I don't feel like it's worth it to just cease talking. She's highly opinionated...you say you hate something and she'll say No way I adore it! But I try to push every of this out of my head. Because there's something about every person that someone else won't necessarily like about you...we're not every puzzle pieces...we can't always fit together. Last friday she yelled at me for saying someone was cute. "____ likes him! you can't like him!" She's not usually like this often...but lately she's been nagging me about something constantly. We went to her locker, she was about to nag me about something. "why do you always---" Then one of my other friends came over, and my pal stopped mid sentence. We walked halfway, my pal left. Then, still nice of mad I said "what were you about to yell at me for" she said "I'll tell you later", and walked off to class, really pissed. That was 3rd hour. By lunch I had calmed down, and walked over to her and said, Okay, I'm sorry about that, it's just you're always yelling at me--" she said "have you talked to %^&** yet? (theres a name there) "No" I said, really confused. "Oh" She said, and turned around. I was still really confused and went and sat down. Like 5 minutes later $%^& came over and sat down, looked right at me and said "_____ said you hate my hair, my clothes, my shoes, and everything" I was ready to sob. &*(&^ goes on to tell me everything _____ said to her. About 5 more minutes later _____ came over, I'm crying and I'm looking at her, like , "how could you?" She just looks at me every innocent, and says "what?" "dude what??" I wouldn't talk because I thought I might puke...everyones looking at me and saying, are you okay? I asked ____ If I could talk to her in the bathroom...so In there I said "why did you tell her that?" "She had a right to know" I said, "Did you happen to mention that you were in this too? That I didn't say every of this??" That was really greedy of her, to tell someone a thousand insults to their face, just to make them mad at me. Plus I didn't outright say any of this. I just agreed. I don't care how &*()& dresses or cuts her hair or what shoes she buys. Later on I asked &*(((& exactly what ____ said. "she said you hate my shoes, and my haircut looked horrible, and you hate it when I wear pajama pants" I said "did she happen to mention that she said most of this? I did too, and I'm really sorry, but I can't let her make you think I've been the only one..." 'No, she didn't say she was really a part of it. She kept avoiding it." I went and talked to ___ again, and told her this was really greedy, and reminding her that she was in alot of trouble too. Apparently, she was mad at me, so she went up to class and told &*()* everything WE had ever said about her behind her back, except she revised it a little and said that I said it every and failed to mention that she was equally responsible. At Lunch that day, she basically pulled an intervention on me. In front of everyone, she said "You've been a real bitch lately. You call yourself ugly every the time, which offends me because I barely spend any time getting ready in the morning." I really didn't understand that, except for the calling myself ugly part, which I haven't done since last year, when I was extremely close to being completely anorexic. And ____ still pretty much yells at me for being insecure (last year) I asked some other friends if I had acted like that recently, to which they every said no. Anyways, I'm pu Oops, I guess It clip off the end. Anyways I feel really bad. She had low self esteem already and I made it worse. Also thanks to the not so helpful answerer number three who probably won't even show up as I gave his/her a low rating. Thanks to everyone else. What should I do?

My husband and I might consider moving into a basement apartment this spring and are worried about hobos because we have a 19 month old son. The lady who lives upstairs (landlord) has a garden next to the bedroom windows and we are very worried. The landlord said she would bomb the home, but we still think this might not take care of the problem. Should we move in and just set up traps and have her bomb? What else can we do to prevent them? ARe they attracted to crumbs?

Open Question: Help me remember a book that I read in middle school!?
I cannot remember the name of this book, and the details are sketchy. I remember reading it in middle school. The main character was a boy. Somewhere along the book, the book organizes an event in a barn or warehouse where there is a wheel to spin. Someone spins the wheel and wins a knife. Later, the boy, or something else, runs away from home and is a hobo. Does any of this sound familiar? Okay, I am being serious with this question. The only things I remember are a giant spinning wheel, winning a knife, and something being a hobo.
